Summer 2016 at Camayan Beach Resort, Subic Bay, Philippines

Here's to a super late post and another super late update due to college. It's my term break, so I'll be publishing the posts that's been stocked over the months. Sorry guys! :( but hey, if you have plans on going to a beach, I totes recommend this! It's a pretty humble and low-key place to spend for vacation. :)

Camayan Beach Resort has been the go-to beach of my parents' community for years. I have a feeling it's not as popular as those in Batangas and other provinces, but if you're plainly just looking for a beach to relax and waddle in, you might find this highly satisfactory. :)

The "relaxation" or silence of the place is on point. It's not loud as the crowd in Boracay, though I don't have an idea of the atmosphere at night. But it has a restaurant, and it's planning on constructing an infinity pool and a pool-resto.

The drive to the beach from Metro Manila is about 3-4 hours via NLEX without traffic. For someone like me who loves the drives itself to the actual destinations, it was pretty fine especially with the panoramic green view of the highway lol. Just be sure to pack some snacks with you for glutton and traffic purposes. Haha!

If you want some sort of landmark to get an idea of its location: the Camayan beach is right beside Ocean Adventure. So it's kind of at the far ends of Subic.

Camayan Beach also has a hotel for those who want to stay for a couple of days or even just a night. If you're planning to go on a daytrip just like we did, I suggest you reserve a hut in advance because it's very convenient and they get occupied easily during weekends. I greatly suggest it, especially if you're a large group and all, you wouldn't want to stay on the sand without shade the whole time, do you? The huts would of course come with a price, but it would surely be worth it considering the climate here. A hut would more or less fit 15 people, and it comes with a table in the middle.

The hut we took. The last time we went, we reserved two because we were 20 plus.

Here's how it looked like inside feat. Us, the bagets lol

Also, there are things you can rent for entertainment! Here's to the adventurous souls out there, yoohoo!

As far as I can remember, when it comes to water activities, you can rent: a kayak for one or for two to three people; swimming fins; snorkel gear; and life vests.

Indoors: Billiards, Foosball, Karaoke, and even more table games.

For sports: A Frisbee; and balls for Volleyball and Basketball. The net for volleyball is for public use though. So you can just go ahead and make use of it. I even remember a group who rented a ball and invited strangers on the beach to play with them. It was actually rad!

If you forget to bring certain necessities, it wouldn't be much of a problem (unless financially) because the beach pretty much sells more than what you might need. So if you want a floatie or a salbabida, you can find some there. If you need extra clothes for swimming because you might have left yours at home, fear not! because Camayan's pretty much got it for you in exchange for them greens (money, fyi). HAHA so yes, tha place is pretty much equipped for possibilities.

Oh, and if you're concerned of the shower rooms... Hmm, I think it's alright. It's not grand, but there are public showers for those who just want to get sand and seawater off of them; and there are also of course, private showers and toilets inside.

A good point is that the restrooms don't emanate foul slash fishy smells as most public restrooms do. But do expect wet floors. So remember to bring flipflops! Practically, the not-so thin-soled ones.

I'll never get tired of spending summers with friends in Camayan's beach. Even if we don't rent anything for entertainment, the place is just so nice to relax in. Although it's not some shmansey-pancey resort with all the hot tubs and glass-architecture and all, it's pretty great for a decent beach. It's uncrowded; it's pretty much silent except for environmental noise; the sand is fine and it doesn't have tons of rocks and shells that would stab your feet; and the place is unpolluted. I don't even remember seeing candy wrappers or food wastes anywhere on the ground. Actually, even huts come with garbage bags.

Another highlight would also be how fresh it is whenever twilight starts. The waves would come in stronger, and mixed with the cool wind of the upcoming nighttime = *insert sound effects of waves crashing on a shore here*

Totally recommended for a silent and relaxing getaway. :)
Anyway, since I'm just here to share my experience and a bit of info, here's Camayan's actual website to feed more of your curiosity: http://camayanbeachresort.com/

Hope you had a good read!
'till my next post! :)

x, Sammie
